I'm on facebook now, but not personally. I deleted my fb account over a year ago because I wanted my private life to stay a bit more private. But I now have a facebook page that is centered around my work.

The idea of this page came from a customer that wanted to stay in touch for there next time they visited. So he suggested a fb page that allowed that. Basically I will get friends on the page from customers and guests that I meet at the bar or anyone that may one day come into my bar. I will keep my shifts and bar locations (since I work at many different bars) posted so friends can find me.

Of course the main goal here is money. A guests that keeps and touch with you and insist you make their drinks next time they come back are much bigger tippers than random guests. I work in a high end resort, so high end guests that tip large are not uncommon. I want these guests coming back to me each time they are in town.

There won't be much of "me" on this facebook page. Just information about where I'm working each day and lots of fun information about alcohol and what's going on at work. But I obviously want to have as many friends as possible so everyone please be my fb friend.........god that sounds gay.

Well I shouldn't feel bad. I've been playing 2/5 and 1/3 so far this month. My 2/5 play is at about $23/hr which is half what I consider easily achievable by me. But it's an extremely small sample. I haven't ran terrible, but I've been running into tons of spots where I can make good folds and not lose much. But these are spots where I should often be winning and I'm not. I shouldn't complain, I'm happy with my play, but you know how it is.

For instance the other day I have KTo from the CO and it's folded to me. I make it $30 and only the big blind calls. An old guy with about $300 and I have him covered. Flop is T58 with 2 clubs (I'm clubbless), he checks I bet $50 he calls. Turn is a red 9, and he check raises me all in after I made it $60. I've seen this guy call down 2 times with a draw and never put in a raise when he missed (although he donked out on the river once after missing with Ace high). As a matter of fact I've never seen him raise once in hours. So I fold and save myself $160 when he rolls over 67 off suit. The nice thing about live poker, you get to see most hands even if you fold. People are obsessed with showing their hands.

Getting tons of those spots where I play perfect, but my profits are less than I expect of myself so I'm a bit down about it. Haven't been involved in a single pot where I put in more than 50BB's in last 4 or 5 sessions. I did make 1 bad fold in a 3 way pot, but it was a small pot where I folded JJ on a Kxxx board vs 2 draws that both missed and I would have won. Small pot so no big deal and prob a +ev fold actually.

Also lost with AA vs KQ.......this one is funny kind of. Btn opens for $20, I make it $80 from SB and he calls. Flop is KKJ, we both check, turn is a Q. I check he bets $20 I call and announce that I should be raising here (me just being an ass cause I know I'm beat). River is blank and we both check. He rolls over KQ off and says "I didn't bet in case you had quads". My comment actually scared him into thinking I had quads.......even though he had one of the Kings........so I lose only $20 postflop in a 3b hand that was $80 preflop to call. LOL live pokers is rigged.

Mimi is off tonight and tomorrow night, gonna rent some movies and hang out at her house for 2 nights. No more poker till Friday.

I Wanted to Kill This Guy

I just broke my record. The record of being the most pissed off I've ever been at a poker table. 2/5nl game and I'm not doing so well. I'm actually down a bit for the day, but I have $650 in chips in front of me (I've added on since my $500 buyin). There's a HUGE fish playing every hand and gladly shipping all in top pair ANY kicker. He's bought in for $500 quite a few times, but during this hand has me covered after getting paid huge with his Q3o hit 2p vs AA.

Anyway, I have 88 in BB and I check my option, 5 way flop. Flop is 844 with 2 clubs. I bet $20 all but the fish fold. Turn is 6 (forget suit but it's red). I bet $50 and fish makes it $150, I shove he calls and says "I win" turning over 5 7 for the straight. Now at this point I haven't shown my full house, I'm laughing so hard inside at this guy, I'm gonna slow roll this asshole (he's been a dick all night) and wait to show my winner until the river comes.

River is 6 of clubs...........his 5 7 is clubs and he wins with straight flush.

Why did it have to happen vs THIS guy? FML. Taking tonight off, I'm pissed still.

Introductions

Ok I officially have a girlfriend now. Just one woman, letting all the others go. Everyone.... meet Mimi. I've talked about her before. She's a dealer at the Wynn, but funny thing is, I met her at a party, not at work. Anyway, if you keep up with my blog you've heard about her already.

Also got my roll up to enough to play 2/5nl now. Starting that soon.

Honey Badger Don't Give A Shit

So I've now been on a 3rd date with the first girl from match.com, a first date with another and a second date planned, and I also have a first date Friday and Sunday with 2 other girls. I'm also in the initial stage of contact and emailing back and forth about 5 other girls.

I realize when I first joined there will be tons of action since I'm new to the site and talking to about 10 women a day on there. Soon I'll have gone through all of them and will be limited only to the new ones signing up, so things will slow down dramatically and quick.

That's all fine though, I figure once I've gone out with lots of these women I should have at least a couple that I like and can pursue more. That's what I really want anyway......plus Mimi (the dealer I'm still seeing) gets back from her long vacation in 1 week.

Andrew has 3 weeks left of summer, so I plan on giving him most my time and we'll be doing a lot of hanging out. Gonna try and not play any poker while he's around during the rest of his break. (waiting for backers to okay this).

Fun hand from the other day. I didn't pay much attention to the preflop action, I was utg, folded and was changing the playlist on my ipod. But I look up at the flop and see it's 4 handed with 4d 6d 2d flop. There's 40ish in the pot, so someone raised to 10 pre. $20 bet gets 3 calls. Turn is 4c and it's checked around. River is 3h first to act shoves, 1 fold, 1 over shove and 1 call......pot is now about 650 with a small side pot of about 70. A5o, A5o, and 65s (not diamonds)........three way chop for straight. How the fuck does nobody have a flush or boat there with all that shoving? Crazy and funny imo.

Kind of gotten lazy on my working out and dieting, put on 5 lbs over last few weeks. Need to get back into my routine. Work is going well, I've had a set schedule the last 2 weeks which is nice, but it's all been slower bars/shifts. Less money in tips but more consistency, so I guess an okay trade off.

Women Trying to Scam Me

First off, some poker talk. Things are going well for the most part. My hourly is about half of what I want at 1/2 (some 1/3 also) but last month destroyed it. May and July were decent, nothing special but nothing bad. June was fucking terrible, but that's okay. Still making money and moving forward.

I see no reason why I won't be playing 2/5 regularly starting in a week or so. The games aren't much tougher but require a larger roll obviously. I've been working on the roll and am only 1 buyin away from being where I want to move up.

Fun hand for today. I'm the button and there's 4 limps plus the blinds so far, I make it $20 with JJ and get 1 caller. Flop is KQ3 with 2 hearts. Player checks I bet $35 and he snap calls. Turn is a J of hearts, he leads for $100 but only had $20 behind. I shove, he calls and flips over 98o with 1 heart. River is a T giving him the straight.

Funny thing is, I get mocked by everyone is this game because I always make it $20 preflop which I started doing from $15 about a week ago. But I still get called light constantly. Every time I play I hear this .........."$20? this is 1/2, why so much?" as they call. Dumbasses. I have even come out and said, if you fold everytime I do it I'll lower it to $15. Live players are morons.

So anyway. Something new in my life I'm going to admit too. I was embarrassed at first, but fuck it. Here it is............ I joined Match.com a few days ago. I've been seeing more than my fair share of women, but I want a larger selection to choose from, so I'm trying it out.

So far I've contacted about 20 women. About half are spam accounts that say they want to meet you, but they need you to send money so they can afford to "come home". Their profile says they live in Vegas and they claim to be on vacation and something happened and they are out of money.

Out of the others I've been on 1 date and have a second date lined up with her. I've also been texting 1 for a few days and exchanging emails with 3 others for a few days. Hoping to line up dates with those soon also. At first I was shocked my how many attractive single women are on their. But then I thought about it this way.........my ex is attractive, and I couldn't put up with her anymore. So I really have to be careful screening these ladies for the shit that is a deal breaker to me.

BTW: I don't suggest the site for you younger guys. It's mostly ladies in their mid 30's to late 40's.

Promised Update

Had a decent time last night. The lounge we went too was not what I hoped. A place called Downtown Cocktails that is located in the touristy part of downtown. It was ok, but not as nice as I thought or expected. Had more of a bar feel to it than a lounge. Don't get me wrong, I love a good bar............but for first dates a big couch, nice cocktails, and the perfect level of music can't be beat......and this placed failed on 2 out of 3.

The drink menu was everything I'd hoped for. I heard they had all kinds of specialty drinks, which they did. We tried 3 different drinks that were all fantastic. Of course before I started working behind the bar these drinks would not of impressed me as much, but since the Wynn is big on specialty drinks and I know quite a few, it's really fun to try new ones.

Lory was fun. She's a little shy and very recently out of a divorce (only 2 months). So I didn't push to go beyond just friendly touching a little and talking. But we had a good time and I'll probably see her again soon. She's from Cambodia, which is next to Vietnam..........wtf? I swear I don't have an Asian fetish, but 5 of the last 6 women I've gone out with are Asian.

I guess there's just a lot of Asian women in Vegas, and I don't really notice race, so if they are nice and attractive I'll go out with them. Maybe all the white girls just aren't nice. And the only black girl I tried to pick up on so far ended up being a hooker....................and if you have to ask..........no I didn't......but fuck she was hot, I might of if I could of afforded it.

Okay, off to have lunch with Mimi one last time before she leaves for the month, then I'm pulling a long day/night at the tables in Aria.

New Poker Home

Poker: Today I went down to play at the Bellagio and they had half the room closed off for a tourney, which meant very few tables and very long lists. So I decided to walk next door to the Aria. I've always heard how great the room was at Aria, but I just never tried it. Well that has been my loss.

The Aria poker room is amazing. The tables are spread out giving you plenty of room, the staff is friendly, the chairs are the best chairs I've ever sat in at a poker table, the bathrooms are right there, and there's 2 places literally next to the poker room that serve quick food. It's also right by the exit that goes to the self park garage. The only down fall was game selection. Now I wouldn't really say it's a downfall as much as "no better than other places". But for anyone looking to play low limits (1/3 and 2/5) there was plenty of tables going.

From now on this will usually be my first stop when looking for a game. I only played 2 hours today and got involved in no real big hands....walking away with a $65 profit. Can't wait to go back there, but got a date tonight.

Women: Tonight I'm going out with Lory, she's a poker dealer at the Wynn. I flirt with her just in a friendly way every time she deals my table, and the other day she handed me a paper with her number and name on it and said "I'm off Wednesdays and Thursdays". This is our first time going out and we are trying a new lounge out, (new to me). I'll give an update on Lory and the lounge later.

Went out the other night with Hana........or Hanna, not sure how it's spelled. This is the girl that had her aunt approach me at the bar. We had fun, but meh. I'm quickly learning that if you go out with a tourists under 30 yrs old, they just want to do tourist stuff, like night clubs and bars. But on the opposite side, if you take a tourist out that's over 30..........wow..........these women have no interest in you, they just want to use you to fulfill a Vegas fantasy.

I don't mind being used btw.

Went out with Mimi also again last week. She's the blackjack dealer at Wynn I went out with a few weeks back that I randomly met at the pool. Things are going well with her but slow. She leaves to Vietnam for a month though on Sunday, (that's where she's from moved here with family when she was 11), so won't be seeing her again for awhile. I'll actually miss her. So far of the girls I've been out with, Mimi is the most fun to be around.

Work: The more I do my job the less it becomes something exciting to report about. Don't get me wrong, my job is still fun as hell and gets to be more fun the better I get at it. Hoping for a good bar this Saturday night that has some action at it.

Bartender Heaven

Work: So last night I get called in to work the graveyard shift at the Eastside Lounge which is 1 am to 9 am. Now I always had a feeling this would be the fun bar and shift to work since it's pretty much the same shift as I worked in security and I used to hang around this bar a lot. But I had no idea.........this was like bartender heaven. This is what you think of when you think of a bar in Vegas. First off, it's so busy I only bartender, they have a porter that does all the grunt work I do often in slower bars. And this bar is packed, people everywhere just waiting for us (one other bartender also there.) And these people hang out and drink for hours. Not like during the day where they have 1 drink and don't talk too much to the bar staff.

The Eastside Lounge is the bar you go by when you leave XS, which is our nightclub that is currently rated number 1 in Vegas and number 2 in the world. So it's basically the after hours hang out spot for club goers.......aka babes in hot dresses and heels. Now I don't want to sound conceited, but I now know what a hot chick feels like. I was hit on all night long and girls wouldn't stop trying to get my number. The only difference between me and a hot chick was that actually gave my number out.......a lot.........to a quite a few great looking girls.

The best one was a fairly attractive lady about mid forties comes up (I wasn't waiting on her, other bartender was) and says to me "you have a great smile, how can we get a hold of you later for some fun?" I said "who's we?" She points at this gorgeous girl that couldn't of been over mid 20's down the bar and says "it's actually for my niece, but she's too shy to talk to you". So I obviously went and talked to her and gave her my number.

Ugh......sorry for the brag, but I just had such an awesome night. Anyway, this shift is next to impossible to get for new guys like me, but someone called in sick at the last minute yesterday so I got it. If there was a God he'd grant me with that shift 5 nights a week.

I Tried To Be A Good Friend

First off poker......I'm taking a few days off, so no updates.

To answer Noel's Q.......I don't have a set schedule now. Every Friday I get my schedule for the following Monday thru Sunday. Sometimes my days off aren't even back to back.

Last night I go out with some friends and we hit up this night club (The Blue Martini) which is a locals place known for Wednesday night Ladies Night. We hang out, talk to some girls have some drinks, and a few hours in 2 of the guys leave cause they work in the morning. Me and Harvey stick around for more drinking.

Harvey catches the attention of these 2 girls and they sit with us for about 2 hours and we drink and talk and dance a bit. Now Harvey got their attention and instantly was all over the hot one.........why is there only 1 hot one btw? Anyhow, I get the 6 while he has the 10.......err maybe 9.5, but she was hot. I'm fine with it, he got them there, let him have at it, I'm not going home with the 6 but we have a good time, so alls well.

The thing is, the hot one just stares and me and smiles constantly and half ass is ignoring Harvey when he's talking. Now Harvey is my bud, but he's 23 yrs old and not a looker.......he has no chance with this girl, but I still let him try and he has a good time.

By the time we decide to leave, Harvey is wasted and can barely walk (damn kids trying to drink). So I take him home, on the way he's texting the hot one......yeah he got her number, but he passes out mid text. I pick up his phone see her number and text her from my phone that I'm taking him home and he's passed out now. She responds with something along the lines of "That's nice of you, Harvey is too young for me (she's 28 btw), he's nice but I think of him more like a brother, I prefer older guys". My interest perks up a bit since there was no reason for her to really tell me that. But I just say goodnight, and maybe we'll see you around.

I wake up the next morning to a text from her and end up in a 2 hour conversation and a date for Saturday night.

Am I doing Harvey wrong? Feel free to answer. It won't change my mind, cause this girl is smoking hot and sweet so I'm going out with her either way.

Also talked with Mimi the other day like I said I would. We had lunch together once and are going out tonight for a movie and hopefully drinks afterward.

Work is also going well, nothing new to report really. I'm getting better at making drinks in front bars though. Presentation and how smooth you make a drink in front of the guest is a big deal for our casino.

Women, Poker, and Work......Changed the Order

Women: Ugh........just when I gave up on Jing, (China girl from few weeks ago), she calls me last night. She was going to be in the poker room today and wanted to know if I'd be there. Well I was planning on not being there, but I can't say no to her. So I show up and get a seat right away next to her (getting to be friends with the floor person is a big plus). I'm so distracted by chatting with her I didn't even notice the poker game going on.

Than BAM......it hits me........the past steps in and fucks it all up. Dian calls and is stranded in the desert and needs help. So being the friend I am, (me and Di remain close friends), I set out to get her. I tell Jing I'm sorry, and we'll hopefully see each other soon. I leave with "call me sometime and let's do something away from the poker table". She says "Ok" and I leave.

Probably never hear from her again......oh well. I'll be talking with Mimi tomorrow about getting together and doing something.

Poker: Ugh, I'm so busy worrying about women I forgot poker was going on today. But somehow I manage to win $28 over a short session.

Work: 2 days ago I show up to the bar and the phone is already ringing. I answer it and it's my boss. "Ugh Jason, this is Mike. The bartender for that bar isn't coming in tonight, can you handle it on your own?".

WHAT? This is amazing for me. My chance to really show I can do it. The chance I'm not suppose to get for months. "Sure Mike, I'll be fine".

8 hours later I have 5 cocktail waitresses thanking me and tipping me large saying how well I did. My boss today mention he heard I did very well and thanked me for stepping up. And I got the full bartender tips for the night (about 4x more than I normally get)............love my job.

Work, Poker, and Women.........in that order

Work: It's going awesome. I'm done training now and loving my job. I get paid well and I'm getting really good at making drinks and enjoy learning about mixing drinks and different spirits. Tomorrow is my first day working not training, meaning I get larger tips (don't have to split them with my trainer).

Poker: It's going shitty. I'm down a few hundred for the month. I guess it's just a bad run, but it's so frustrating sometimes........you all know, why am I bothering to explain it. Fun hand from the other day. I'm the button and playing a normal live table, meaning there's 8 fucking morons there. I've won a bunch of little hands and have a stack of $580 (1/3nl I started with 300). The UTG (lucky fish who's got like $1000 in front of him) opens to $20 and there's 4 callers. So $100 in the pot and I look down to KK and decide I'm happy with taking the $100 now so I'll just make it big. I raise to $220. Without thinking the UTG snap calls and everyone else folds. Flop is TT3 he checks the flop I shove he calls and of course..............he has TT, flopped quads and stacks me...........sigh. Oh well, equity wise I'm crushing the games.

Women: Went out a few nights with this girl I met from Hawaii..........not gonna kiss and tell, but it was a good time :)

Plus, I went to hang out with some friends at one of the casino pools few days ago and ran into one of the blackjack dealers from the Wynn that was there with a friend. This girl is really cute and I flirt with her at work a lot, but she just smiles and shakes her head. Well we spend some time together at the pool, and all of a sudden she's giving me her number the next time I see her at work. She's out of town for a few days, but I'll be trying to spend some time with her very soon.

Love The Job

So I've worked a week now at my new job as an Apprentice Bartender. So far I love it. I'm much busier than I was in security and I make a lot more money......and the job is just fun. Mixing spirits is a blast. I've mostly been working service bars while I get good at making drinks, but they are a ton of fun.

Service bars are the bars the cocktail waitresses come to get there drinks from. Some places have the girls get drinks from regular bars, but at Wynn we have special bars in the back the girls come too. I make drinks all day and BS with cocktail waitresses while listening to good music (there's an ipod dock at the service bars). Then at the end of the day all the cocktail girls tip me. The main bartender that's training me gets most of the tips, but I get an extra $5/hr on average.

I did work one regular bar and had a lot of fun with it also. One lady I served was a lady that I cracked her KK in the poker room the night before at the Wynn. She looked at me and smiled and said "of course I can't win with kings, you know the dealers". Forgot her name but she was from Notingham.........think I know someone else from there.

As for my China girl, haven't seen her again. I got busy and never showed up Sunday to meet her.......although it wasn't a "let's meet here at this time" thing. It was more of a "I'll probably see you since we both play that day and we'll do something." She asked for my number last time I saw her and said she'd call to find out when I'm playing, but she hasn't. So I guess I'll give up on that one.

I Made A Dealer Cry and I Weight in Under 200

Okay, so I play a lot of live poker now. I'm in the poker room everyday, and until yesterday I was playing the Bellagio every single day. (Side note: now that I'm not in the Security Department I'm allowed to play at the Wynn, so been there last 2 days trying it out) Back to the story........

So being in the Bellagio every day I've gotten to know a few of the dealers very well. They all seem to like me, but mostly because I'm one of the only regs that's not an asshole. I stick up for the dealers and don't tolarte dealer abuse at the table. When they can't say anything due to risk of losing their job, I will pipe up and tell a player to quit being a jerk, it's not the dealers fault you suck at poker.

So anyway, Ivette is dealing at my table, I have ran my stack up to about $430, so I'm sitting on a nice profit mostly from small pots just adding up. Then comes this hand, I get TT, a fish (they all are really) raises (he's been sucking all day vs others and has me almost covered) and I call from the BB. HU action flop is AT4 rainbow. I c/r him we get all in he has AQs and he wins the hand with running spades for a flush.

I serisously didn't even bat an eye, patted the felt and said "nice had". I've been there so many times I really don't care. I look up at Ivette and she has a tear in her eye and she's staring at the board like she can't believe what she did to me. I toke her $1 and say "no biggy" and she starts crying. After her down she hugs me before moving to the next table and tells me something about favorite player don't ever change.

Guess I've made some friends in the poker room.

I also had my first offical date with Jing last night. We decided to quit playing poker and have dinner and spend a few hours talking. She seemed very anxious to meet up again Saturday, but I told her my brother was in town Friday and Saturday, but I'll meet up with her Sunday and we'll go do something fun.

AJ vs 88 and Jing

Sit down at a table the other day. Frist hand I'm dealt (I post in CO) I get AJo and it's folded around to me. I pop it to $10 (standard PFR in 1/2 nl here) fold - fold - BB reraises min. I can instantly tell this old guy is a dumb fish. Not like one of the regular retired guys that plays daily and nitty, just a fish.............trust me if you haven't played live before, you can spot these guys a mile away.

Anyway I call of course. Flop comes J73 rainbow, he bets 30 I shove (I started with $200 he had about $170) and he snap calls with 88, 9 on turn 10 on river I lose to staight. Live pokers is so OMG funny and soft. I don't get upset, I'm just happy to be playing daily in games like this. The funny thing is, good players would think, WTF would you shove there? For value obviously, it's so insane how light people call in these games.

I also met this girl named Jing from China. Not 100% sure what she does for work, but she does it on the computer. She works all day from her hotel room, then comes down and plays poker. She's very nice........(translation: six foot tall and gourgeous)........gotta move quick. She's only in town for 3 weeks.

WTF Did This Fish Have?

So I'm in a 1/2 nl game. One guy that's really tight, I mean like super tight nit that never plays a hand, has $300 in front of him. To his left is a crazy Danish guy that has built his chips up to about $950 mostly by making cray huge bluffs in large pots (showed them all the time) and the one time he gets called he has runner runner for a boat.....against me of course (he had T6o vs my AK on QJT66 board). Anyway, back to the story.

Nit guy raises to $12, Dane 3 bets to $40, folds around Nit guy shoves Dane snap calls. Nit guy has JJ and it holds to beat Danish guys AKo for $600 pot. Now the nit and Dane both have $600ish. Only a few hands later, Nit is BB and Dane is utg. Dane makes it $20, folded to nit who min riases and tells the Dane he has a much better pair this time. Dane looks at him and says I guess I need to get lucky then and calls.

Flop is QJ8. Nit bets out for $100, Dane insta calls. Turn is another 8, Nit bets $200, Dane insta calls. River is a 3 (no flush on board). Nit shoves, Dane thinks for about 15 seconds and calls. Nit shows KK and Dane mucks. $1200 fucking pot in a 1/2 game and he can't beat KK on that board? WHAT THE FUCK? Guess he had AQ. OMG people are fucking retarded in live pokers.

Yesterday was Anderw's 12th birthday. He's getting so big on me it's crazy. Only 3 weeks of school left and it's his summer time. I think he's going to spend a lot of the summer with his grandparents this year, so I'll be home alone a lot this summer. Lots of time for poker and going out.......maybe time for a bit of dating.

Got It

Finally. After all this time I got the job I wanted. I start as a bartender apprentice soon. My boss has to sign off on the transfer, which I'm sure won't be until after Memorial Day Weekend since it's one of the busiest weekends of the year. So I should be starting my new job by June 1st at the latest.

This means about a 50% to 70% increase in pay depending on tips. I originally thought I'd be getting less hours but higher pay. Come to find out I'll be getting just as many hours (40 per week) and higher pay plus tips.

Also found out that I don't have to put in 2000 hrs to be a bartender in the union (which our casino is in). I only have to pass the bartenders union school which is 4 months long. I'll be starting the school in June also. It's just a few hours a night a few nights a week, so shouldn't be hard to do. Then once I'm through my boss can put me on as an acutal bartender. That is another large pay increase that will almost double what I make as an apprentice.

And still killing the live pokers. Every day I'm amazed at the dumb shit I see.

Paying To Keep A Fish Around

So yesterday I get at the B at about 8:30 a.m., (normal for me), and there's a table running that I can tell has been going all night. Lots of drunks and guys that look like they can barely keep their eyes open.

I get a seat and it only takes me 1 hand to realize there's 2 huge fish down in seat 2 and 3 but seat 3 is one of these 90/50 guys if ya know what I mean. He is so drunk and being so loud that the poker manager calls security to remove him, a nice tip of a few red chips to each security officer convinces them to leave him though, and I explain to the poker manager if he leaves this table will die..........so he stays.

I end up getting all in 4 times against this guy preflop. 3 times with pair vs pair (all 3 of mine are bigger including AA vs 22 on one) and the other was AK vs his AT. I lost 3 of the 4 hands. My TT vs his 99 is the only one I win. The pots were never too big, he always had between $135 and $75 in front of him, (he would always rebuy for $100). I end up losing just over a buyin for the day but it was fun to see how lively and fishy these games can be.

I also feel like I'm losing value by betting too small with my hands. I value bet everytime I should, but not for enough. I realized this when a really good full time 5/10 player sat down and started playing waiting for his seat. For instance he had one hand where the board was A47JT (no flush possible but the flop had a FD on it) and the pot was about $65 on the river. He bets $100 on the river and gets snap called by A3, he had A4 for 2 pair and gets called for a huge over bet with TP no kicker.

Time for me to value be more. I need to quit considering pot size when I bet. I kinda knew this already, but it's time to really put it into play.

Tomorrow is my adution for bartending at work. I have to pour 20 different glasses to a certain oz from 1/4 to 2 and then make 3 drinks that I pull out of a hat out of 19 possible drinks. I have all 19 drinks memorized and I'm pretty good at pouring blind shots, (been practicing a ton). So if all goes well I should be getting this bartending job offered to me very soon. I'm taking today off from poker to review my knowlegde and prepare one last time.

Live Pokers

Well so far things are going well. I haven't ran really terrible, but I haven't ran good either. I've been involved in 3 all ins, I was bluffing with 8 high in one and I got picked off by pocket sixes on a 75377 board, the other 2 hands I lost when I put my money in ahead. Picked off by a 7 outer and a 3 outer. Yet my winrate is still well above what I'm trying to acheive. Of course it's a very small sample. I've gotten AA 5 times, picked up the blinds and a few limps in one and folded or lost the other 4.

It takes some adjusting compared to online play, but it's extremely easy. I think I'll really do well. Watched a very mediocre player run like God today and win $1600 at the table. Can't wait to have one of those days. This happened in a mater of 4 hrs, which is about 120 hands..........wow, what a run. People just pay you off.

LeSieurs Guide to Winning at Live Pokers:

Chapter 1. Play like a huge nit, nobody will notice or care. Value bet very light, you will get paid off. Base your bet sizing on what you want your opponents to do, the size of the pot or stacks is meaningless. Tell Monica how nice she looks (hot cocktail waitresss), she will rub the back of your neck and call you honey when she sees you for the first time each day.

4 Weddings and a Funeral

Wedding #1: My boss, Steve Wynn gets married Saturday. Not that big of a deal at first, until I saw who the best man is. He is may fav movie star of all time. I'm not one to get star struck, so I won't say anything to him even if I see him, (would lose my job if I did), but it would be really cool just to see him. I'm not allowed to say who he is, but let's just say........don't laugh at his mule, or you'll end up dead.

Wedding #2: Royal Wedding........blah, who fucking cares.

Wedding #3: Me and live poker. I start Monday. I'll be playing 1/2 nl with way more than enough of a bankroll with the intention of building it too a 2/5 nl roll within 60 days or less. My goal is to play about 150 hrs a month. My expectation is $20/hr at 1/2 and $40/hr at 2/5. Of course you don't get many hands in, so swings can be lengthy in terms of days, but the over all size of swings in hand numbers are smaller than online due to the large edge in the games for a player like me. So I could easily run bad and take the full 60 days or a little more to get to 2/5, or run good and be there in a matter of 3 to 4 weeks if I ran good. I'll update the blog once or twice a week with stories and results starting in a few days.

Wedding #4: Me and a new job. So far I've had 2 offers. Bar Porter and XS Security (biggest nightclub in Vegas). Both pay more than I make now. But I'm still holding out for Bartender apprentice. Still waiting for another interview with the top manager (Director of Beverages). I talked to him Thursday and he said it would be within a week or so and that he still needs 3 people. Manager under him says I'm a shoe-in.......I hope that she's right, this job pays 50% more than I make now with more fun, more interaction with hot women, and less responsibility. Either way, I for sure will be out of casion security very soon.

Funeral: Me and online poker. I've finally come to terms with the fact I won't be playing online. Most of the roll I have goes to my backer, but I still have a sizeable chunk of money on FTP and they owe me more money since they bounced my last check. Hope to see those funds within 60 days.

So now what?

Well a few things need to change......

Job: It's not official yet, but I should be transferring very very soon. I'm hoping to have the final approval this week and I transfer 2 weeks after that. I'll be working as an Apprentice Bartender. It's like bartender in training. Pays more than I make now and is one of the few positions in the casino that employees seem to truly enjoy doing. I don't have the required experience I'm suppose to have, but I've made the right connections while working at the Wynn, and that's what really matters in this world.

Poker: No more online for me. I'm going live again. I will continue to play staked, and keep an actuate blog of how I'm doing. So for some of you the blogging of a live player may be more interesting, make sure and follow along. I'll be starting very soon. Post more about this soon.

Working out and eating right: Nothings changed here, same goals, doing the same things.

Women: Putting a stop to this one for a bit, (until fall probably). Now that my poker is going to be played live, I won't have enough time. I need to focus on work, poker, and give all my free time to Andrew for now. This doesn't mean I'm going to shun them away, just not going to actively go out and try to "make myself available" if you know what I mean.

May be going back to live play soon. I guess I'm scared, but fuck me things don't look good. I logged on to Full Tilt this morning before the shit hit the fan and haven't logged out yet, but once I do log off will I be able to come back? Is FTP going to follow suit with PS? I can't even get on 2p2 now. Also I got my FTP check in the mail today..........ugh, probably not even worth trying to cash, it's just gonna bounce. I'll call the processor Monday, already called and got message they are only open M-F 8-5 Est. FML

All Alone Again

Today Martin shipped out to the Motherland. Had a great time and me and Andrew enjoyed him being here. Couple pics above from our trip to the Hoover Dam.

As I expected I cheated on my diet and volume, although did well keeping up with my exercising. I gained a couple pounds but that's more than acceptable considering the amounts I ate and beer I drank (although it was a lot less than it could have been).

I will say this, I'm officially a football/soccer fan now. Not sure what team I'll follow, but I really enjoy watching the games. So far I'm a Rooney fan cause he's just fun to watch and a "Granny Lover" which is a bit funny also.

So now I'm off to the store to restock my place with the healthy boring food I need to go back too and I've already started grinding hard. Back to my goals.

Things are gonna get better now that I'm a Black Card Member. I'll soon be getting the respect I deserve. Wait till some unknowing dumbass cop tries to pull me over, I'll flash my Black Card and be on my way.

Some Shit, a Brit, and Lamas

The Shit.......

So last month basically sucked really bad poker wise. I lost $1500 on the last day of the month. My entire month can be summed up with my W$SD and W$WSF, both low compared to what I'm normally at. For the month my W$SD broke even and my redline sank like the Titanic. Should have some good run coming my way I'd think.

The Brit........

Got moved into my new place. It's a 2 bedroom, and 2nd bedrrom is still undecided at this time. I may elect to get a roommate, or may not. If so I'll collect $550 per month from one (rent and utilities), but is that worth it? I like my quiet, and I don't want someone bugging me to teach them how to play poker then watch them loose their rent money. Plus Andrew is here often, and rather he not have to deal with someone else here. Then again, $550 a month goes a long way. We'll see. But for now, the room is empty and staying that way for sure until end of May. So I figured what the hell, I need to fill it with someone I want to be around. So why not a Brit? Martin gets here Monday and I can't wait to see him again and hang out.

The Goals.........

Doing well with #1, getting my hands in like I wanted too. And I think I'm putting my A game out there each time. I never play more than an hour, so it's easy to play well for short periods of time imo.

#2 I'm doing okay with, I didn't join the Kav Maga gym yet, been too tired and busy moving. But I did up my running to 18 miles a week rather than 9. And stopped all bread, although I still eat 2 or 3 whole wheat tortillas a week (chicken wraps). Still prob join that gym later this month.

#3........hmm, nothing yet. I was super close to saying yes to this girl 2 nights ago at work. She wanted to go "hang out" after I got off work. Very attractive and nice............but I guess her husband ruined the mood when he walked up and asked "what's wrong". Luckily he just thought I was questioning her about a problem, (normal thinking when you see someone with security). She shrugged, smiled and said "I better go"..............women are whores. So for now, I'm still blank on #3.

Some HUGE changes coming at my place of work. No details for now though, let you know soon.

Need Goals

I don't really do well without set goals. I need something to push me, so putting my goals out there for others to see and giving me an X to achieve daily will help.

Over the next 3 months I will.....

1. Finish my stake and come out with a BR that will allow me to not be staked
2. Get in better shape (I'm thinking 6 pack abs and from 205 down to about 175 maybe?)
3. Start going out with women again

Now so far (as you've heard me preach before), these are just dreams. So to make them goals I need a plan.

Plan for #1

• Step up and put in the time
• I will play 21 hours of poker every week (not the lazy 10 to 12 hours I've been doing)
• I will play my nitty A game (it's low variance and profitable, perfect for the stake)

Plan for #2

• Continue to eat the way I have but cut out breads (hasn't been much, but none is better)
• Continue to work with free weights 3 times a week (this is easy, I enjoy it)
• Continue to run 3 miles 3 times a week (this sucked at first, but is easy now)
• NEW: Joined a Krav Maga Gym LINK, start Monday 3 times per week

Plan for #3

• This one will be less easy for me, dating still seems strange to think about
• I'll start out easy, by not pursuing girls and accepting a few dates from tourists that wanna just go out and have fun, (usually get asked a few times a week)
• Eventually I'll get back into the swing of it and comfortable with asking out local women I may want to see more of
• Not looking for anything serious anyway, just some fun for now

Not going to give updates every X days on this, but I will give them every now and then. Not because I expect you to give a shit, just because I need something to answer too.

Starfish Really Loves You

Well March has been just a disgusting month. My redline which I normally keep even is going down like The Titanic and my blueline is bearly break even. My W$WSF has dropped 5% from norm (barely above 40% now) and my W$SD is below 50%. I don't play a lot now, so my sample is fairly small. About 23,000 hands, and I know I've had these runs lots of times, so I guess I just sit back and put up with it.

Next Tuesday I move into my new apartment. Got my own place, 2 bed 2 bath in a nice complex that's closer to work and Andrew's school. I get first 2 months free with 8 month lease, so that will save me some money in April and May. Then starting in June I may elect to rent out the 2nd room to one of the guys from work to save me money. Depends on if I get a promotion between now and then. A lot of talk from managers that a supervisor position will come up in May and I'll probably get it................heard that before though.

I also was approved to be an SFO, but I have to pass a class first. Armed Officer carrying a concealed weapon. Only thing is, I'm not super experienced with a gun, and the class is very very hard I'm told. 70% fail rate, although I'm told most people that fail it are cops that have bad handgun habits they won't break or people that just don't listen. It's a 4 week course starting late April. Kinda knew I was being approved for this a long time ago, but it was finally made official the other day.

I've seemed to plateau with my weight, I can't seem to get below 205, but I look like I'm losing fat. So I must be putting on muscle from my workouts. Not like bodybuilder muscle, that's dumb looking. I use light weights so I won't look like a buff moron, (hate that). Just enough to do the job of looking and feeling better than I did.

I was wearing a belt so I wouldn't have to buy new pants and shorts since they are all too big now. But now the belt I was wearing is too big, no holes left for me...........shit I was fat.

The Banana King

Gonna be moving at the end of this month..............again. The place I'm living now was not set up properly for AC, so the part of the home I'm in is 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house and it's unacceptable now that it's getting hot out.

Poker killing me this month. Everyone hits every possible draw vs me, flushes, straights, gutshots, 2nd pair, runner runner BS......whatever they got, it gets there. Think I'm down 5 BI's for the month, but it's all ok, not living on the money so no real stress, just a little frustration. Ran hot last month, so I guess it's only fair? I hate fair.

Think I'll go out with some girls this week. I'm feeling it's time, just been a long time since I've dated so not quite sure where to start.

Too Drunk for Poker

So I'm standing at one of our bars last night watching ESPN, (yeah I can do that when it's slow), and this guy sits down at the table by me. I know he's a poker player, so I'm like hey how's it going, he says "good.......but I'm a bit drunk". I say "it would be fun to talk poker with you", he's like "yeah I would, but my heads spinning a bit, I need to sit and try to see straight and not think right now".

I say "okay, is there anything I can do for you"? He says "I'm too drunk to drive, but I need my phone, can you have valet pull up my car so I can get my phone then I'll take a cab".

Tilt Breaker

Trying this software out on a 15 day free trial they offer. I went through my play by day and figured out a nasty pattern. Seems that an extremely high percentage of the time I don't ever recover from 250+ Big Blind losing sessions. In other words if I had lost more than 2 and 1/2 buyins in a session, I usually just lost more or broke even for the rest of the session and later sessions in that day.

This software allows you to set a timer and limit. I set mine at $500 (250 BB) and 6 hours. So anytime I lose $500 it sits me out on all tables and won't let me sit back in for 6 hours.

Just got it yesterday and I had a very good day. Today I sit down, I get all in as a HUGE favorite vs a fish shoving all sorts of shit on 2 occasions. First one he hits a 3 outer and second time he hits a 4 outer. Few hands later a reg that I battle with often 3b's me and I know it's light so I out play him and get all in with TPTK on flop vs his pocket 2's only to be rivered by a 2 outer. This has all happened in a time span of 16 minutes and I'm about ready to kill something. Tilt Breaker shut me down right then and there. I sat back and thought, "hmmm, that's cool".

So now instead of continuing to 12 table pissed off, I'm here telling you about it. I'll buy this product when my trial runs out.

New Blog

February Stats

I changed blogs, thought a kewl new title was needed.

Playing FR on FTP is going well. I'm below EV and still above my goal bb/100, but I've only played 22,000 hands. I should be Black Card by the end of the month, which apparently does nothing for me. I'm shocked at how increadably soft the FTP games are compared to PS, and also happy to see PTR doesn't work on FTP, (unless they fixed that in last few days). As you can see from my stats, you can be a complete nit, and people will pay you off.

Things at work still going well. I've advanced high enough that I don't think I'd quit now even if I was makeing $200/hr from poker. I always get the best posts at work, I've started to make a lot of friends, and good looking women are finally hitting on me. (Probably helps that I've lost 40lbs and look like I did 15 years ago.)

I'm eating good and exercising a lot. 3 times a week on the weights, 1 time per week on intense cardio, and I'm eating different. I only eat healthy food, but I don't mean like salad and veggies. I mean as in ALL organic and free range food. I read that it matters more about the quality of the food than anything else, and holy shit it works for me. I feel awesome everyday all day, I lose fat so easy, and I still eat really good foods. No junk food though. Things like steak, burgers, lots of chicken (all from here http://www.grasslandbeef.com/StoreFront.bok?affiliate_no=524 ) . 5 meals a day all around 350 to 500 calories and protein shakes after workouts.

I've considered trying to get 6 pack abs. I know it's hard to do, but I think I can. I've already got 2 showing, but the bottom 4 still have a little fat around them. If I adjust my workout a little and cut some carbs out I think I can do it over a 3 month period. If I can do it, I wouldn't maintain them, just be cool to say I did it at my age. I won't try to convince you it's to "make me feel good about myself"...........of course it's for the ladies. I'm getting enough attention lately I want to look as good as I can for them, I'll probably accept one of these offers soon. Going to be serving Di with divorce papers soon, so I'm expecting her to cut me off from booty calls once that happens. Hell, she might flat out murder me, and I hate doing this too her, she's a great friend, just not the type of wife I can be with.
